Description

Conglomerates and sandstones of the Eocene Carmelo Formation were deposited by sediment gravity flows, in relatively deep water, in a submarine canyon probably comparable to the present-day Monterey Canyon.

Updated / edited version of an older panorama.

Thanks for the comments. Ron - it was not easy to get rid of the vignetting; I applied first Vignetting Reducer (vignetting.republika.pl Will open in
a new tab or window/) to each photograph, and that helped quite a bit, but some vertical dark bands were still visible. I tried to make these less obvious in Photoshop. [It looks like I will have to buy the real deal, Photoshop Elements is unable to open these big files.]
