Still waiting for Kilgore661 to arrive and what am I doing ... walking around beautiful Paris? Eating great Parisian food? Hanging out at Starbucks on Avenue de L'Opéra? No ... I am in the Louvre taking low-light, hand-held GigaPans of Rembrandt!

When Kilgore finally arrives, the three of us spend some good times in Starbucks on Avenue de L'Opéra. Note: there is no way I know the geocode location of this room ... I could be off a mile ... the Musée du Louvre is that big!

when I saw this comment, I thought it was my wife's comment ... she must have exactly the same thing to me a dozen times.

I think the queue for getting into Versailles was even worse. Note to other travellers: do not visit Versailles on whatever day it is that the Louvre is closed!

She wants to return again and soon to spend more time in the Musée d'Orsay, which was a very nice museum. However, even as busy as the Orsay was, there is no comparison to the crowd size in the Louvre. And as far as Starbuck was concerned, people per square foot was greater than even the Louvre!

That Starbucks was pretty special. It looked like a 19th century salon with its marvelous wooden panels and the art all over the ceiling. Re geocoding, After spending so many days in the Louvre, I'm sure Andrea would be able to tell you where these paintings are to the nearest yard :-)
