Description

360 panorama of the fort built in Edgecomb, Maine, 1809 in response to President Jefferson's embargo on foreign trade. Since the shipping industry was at a standstill, the fort was built by highly skilled woodworkers who usually plied their trade in ship-building operations. The result is some remarkable craftsmanship for a military structure of the period.
