Description

I really have to compliment the GigaPan Stitcher for this stitch ... amazing considering what was handed to it! When I loaded the 40 photos into the Stitcher, all I saw was mis-match, and was most surprised to see an almost error free stitch.

This GigaPan complements the very first GigaPan I ever took: gigapan.com/gigapans/6655 I had the software, but not a robot; so I took my Nikon D70 and the 70-200mm f/2.8 VR (focal length was 70mm) to take the GigaPan entitled, "Rice University: Rayzor Hall, Willy, Pitman Tower, Fondren Library and Anderson Hall". It too was taken hand-held without a tripod.

To see this building from a different perspective, please visit this YouTube video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kf7iitk8mrw&feature=player_embedded Will open in a new tab or window
As always, I geocode my GigaPans and share them within the Google Earth utility that generates a kml file providing a the visual effect of having a curved panorama on a curved surface. So, if you have Google Earth, then click on "Google Earth" immediately underneath the GigaPan. If you don't have Google Earth, then download it as it is free.

The Lovett Hall project was only a test prior to my upcoming Paris, France trip.

Hope that my stitched Paris panoramas are as good as this ... I will not have access to a robot nor a tripod during my stay.

I didn't think there was anything racial about Rice and I am happy to believe you when you say there isn't. But thanks for the explanation - all is now clear.

It is a little vague ... what the deal is, is that you enter the SallyPort for the first time when you enter as a Freshman, the second time you are allowed to walk through is when you graduate; so that is the reason for the inability to touch so-to-speak. That is the reason the two run around Lovett to make contact. There is nothing racial about Rice ... I assure you.

Yes and I didn't understand it. It seemed to be saying "If you're black then at Rice you are not allowed to walk down some of our corridors". Obviously that isn't the intent but I don't know what the intent was.
