Your comments reminded me of this shot I took gigapan.com/gigapans/43956. Taken hand-held in 30 seconds, all sorts of things "wrong" with it, but it is one of my favourite images.

Thanks for your compliment Kilgore. Gigapanning is a funny thing, because I spent only 10 seconds composing this shot, I just used my Panasonic point and shoot, as I was running late for an appointment, but I did bracket at +/-1 ev and ran them though Photomatix before stitching. I am very surprised at how striking the panorama turned out.
