The biggest challenge in this Gigapixel was the place. In the middle of the summit is a large transmission tower, and we had to take Photos from 2 locations. Here is a closeup of where we have taken the Picture: goo.gl/ReAhy

but it's also the cause of the missing sharpness at 100% zoom in ... :-(

+ Nikon AF-S TC-14E II - this makes different picture of course:)
Andreas Schnederle-Wagner (March 06, 2013, 07:43AM )
+ Nikon AF-S TC-14E II is about the calculated size ... more or less ... still a bit inflated by Autopano ... normally I would limit the zoom to 0.9 / 0 .85 for sharpness - but not possible at Gigapan! :-(

It is famous Autopano interpolation then. If you have 500mm on d300 this gives you 1.81 degrees wide portrait oriented image angle. It covered by 2848 pixels of D300. This should give you 360/1.81*2848=566453 pixel wide, 360 image. But this image is 866000 wide. which give us suspicion that it is 1.5 time interpolated. But good gigapan anyway :)

This shot was done with a Nikon D300 + 500mm Sigma Lens on Gigapan Epic Pro. 2 shooting positions were needed as in the middle on this summit is a big radio mast ... stitched with Autopano Giga.

Interesting, which camera/lens did you use for this gigapan? Could you please share this info?
