Saint-Jeannet est un village situé dans le département des Alpes Maritimes, en région Provence Alpes Côte d’Azur, à une vingtaine de kilomètres de Nice, entre Gattières, la Gaude et Vence. Le village est perché au pied du baou de Saint-Jeannet, masse rocheuse culminant à 800 m. Il attire de nombreux randonneurs et grimpeurs, et domine la vallée de la Cagne où se dressent les ruines d’une ancienne bergerie fortifiée, le Castellet. Au sommet du Baou, une table d’orientation renseigne les promeneurs, qui peuvent apercevoir en contrebas le village et au large un magnifique panorama qui s’étend des sommets alpins du Mercantour aux collines niçoises, jusqu’à Antibes, aux îles de Lérins et au massif de l’Estérel.

View from the "Baou" of Saint-Jeannet
Saint-Jeannet is a village in the Alpes Maritimes, Provence Alpes Côte d'Azur, about twenty kilometers from Nice, close to Gattières, La Gaude and Vence. The village is situated at the foot of a rock named "Le Baou Saint-Jeannet", 800 m high. It attracts many hikers and climbers, and dominates the valley of Cagne where the ruins of an ancient fortified sheepfold, the Castellet. At the top of "Le Baou", a viewpoint informs walkers, who can see below the village and a magnificent panorama that stretches from the Mercantour Alps from the hills of Nice to Antibes up, the Lérins Islands and the Esterel Mountains.
