View from Ronge Island, Antarctica by Bob Vila

While camping overnight on Ronge Island, I was lucky enough to take this 54 image panorama using a Gigapan unit. The gigapan fared amazingly well in the cold. In fact, it fared better than I did. Since I had no tent, I ended up digging a hole in the snow with a shovel and spending the night in a sleeping bag and bivy sack. It ended up sleeting most of the night and I feared for my weather exposed camera equipment , but in the end my waterproof bags protected my gear and I ended up with one of my favorite panoramas.
