Description

The Trans-Canada Highway#105 is never far from the ocean in Nova Scotia, but on Cape Breton Island, it climbs Kelly's Mountain and, along the way, has a spot to pull-over, stop and take in the grand view across the Jersey Cove to the highlands beyond. The Cove is a long fiord-like arm of the Atlantic, although the sandbar at the Englishtown Ferry almost, but not quite, cuts off this arm from the ocean. Lobster boats inspect traps along the shore and the world-famous (among drivers) Cabot Trail highway can be seen snaking up the forested slopes.
