Canon Powershot S95
The Cemetery Committee of Salisbury, Vermont is interested in making maps of the grave stones in the three town cemeteries. A good list of the stones was compiled by the late Fletcher Brush in the 1990s. While the weather was perfect on the day after Thanksgiving, I captured the ten images stitched together here to see if this was a good method of making a basemap of the stones. The area of the cemetery was covered in six or seven vertical photos, and I used only the central part of those images to reduce distortion. The photos were aligned over the Google Maps image of the area and blended together in Photoshop.
The next step is to add a layer over this one with an icon for each grave stone and a code for linking to Fletcher's roster with information from each headstone's inscription.
