Biscayne Bay View from the 30th Floor of the Marriott Hotel on Bayshore Drive. Thanks to the exceptional courtesy of Suzanne.

At the center of the picture is the Venetian Causeway crossing Biscayne Bay between Miami, at N.E. 15th Street on the mainland and 17th Street on Miami Beach. This bridge built in 1925, follows the original route of the Collins Bridge, a wooden 2.5 mi (4 km) long structure built in 1913 by John S. Collins and Carl G. Fisher which opened up the barrier island for unprecedented growth and development.

To the right is the MacArthur Causeway Bridge (I-395) over to Watson Island. The MacArthur Causeway continues on connecting to Palm Island, Hibiscus Island, Star Island and on to Miami Beach at 5th Street.

To the right of the MacArthur Causeway Government Cut, a deep waterway, and Dodge Island, home of the many Cruise Ships and huge Container Ships that operate in and out of Miami.

On the far left of the picture is one of the bridges of the Julia Tuttel Causeway (I-195) connecting N.E. 36th Street in Miami with 41st Street on Miami Beach.

The endless row of highrise buildings in the background are the hotels and condos along Collins Avenue, Miami Beach.

This gigapan was photographed with a Nikon D-800 Camera using a Nikon 28-300mm lens set to 300mm, mounted on a Gigapan Epic-Pro. My settings were F:11, Shutter Speed @ 1/500 sec. & ISO 200.
