The marks on the side of the large "orthostat" -- I don't see anything there which looks man-made. There are 2 very faint vertical scratches or grooves, more or less parallel -- are these the things you are looking at?

I'm intrigued by the edge of the big stone projecting into the pit on the left. What is the evidence that the pit was used for a standing stone?
