eamen called this a "reef" because it is a difficult to pass unsafe barrier, and this is that. The Capitol part of the name was given becuase the columns look like the buildings in Washinton DC.
Aspens, oaks, and cottonwoods offer a last gasp of early November color, contrasingt the sky and complementing the red rock canyons.
