This image continues my experiments in using lenses of different lengths in the same gigapan. I first shot the whole scene using a 55mm lens and then I shot three of the buildings with a 200mm lens. I would have liked to cover all the non-sky, non-floor areas with the 200mm lens but this would have taken a long time to shoot and the image was only intended to be an experiment. As you can see, the software I used made a good job of stitching the 200mm shots to the 55mm ones. There were problems in other areas however. The main issue for me was that the software produced an unnecessarily large output file measuring 345GB (and I do mean gigabytes) in size which made it nearly impossible to edit. For example, on my Core i7 16GB RAM machine with a 300GB Velociraptor drive as a scratch disk, it took Photoshop three hours just to open the image.
