Description

On this window 13, we find all the attention directed upon the twelve year old Jesus, the central figure among disputing and writing scribes.

In the foreground we see one of them with Hebrew letters on his garment. These letters are quite recently translated by Israeli tourists.

The architecture, in Doric ordre, enchances the effects of space and depth.

In the background Mary and Joseph can be seen approaching; they have been looking for Him for three days.
When Jesus was 33 years old, He was lost again for three days...

Donor: Pertus van Suyren, abbot of the Norbertine monastery Marienwaard, close to Beesd.

Glaziers from Antwerp: Digman Meynaert and Hans Scrivers, after a design by Lambert van Noort. 1559 - 1561
