Taksim Meydanı, İstanbul'un Beyoğlu ilçesinde yer alan ve İstanbul kentinin en ünlü noktalarından biri olan meydan.
Osmanlı döneminde, civar semtlere su dağıtmak için şu an Taksim Meydanı olarak bulunan bölgeye bir su deposu yapıldı. Depolanan suyu da dağıtmak, yani taksim etmek için küçük bir yapı, yani maksem yaptı. Meydan adını, eskiden Galata-Beyoğlu suyunun "taksim edildiği", Taksim Maksemi'nden almıştır;
