Unfortunatly didn't have a viewer capable of viewing the full resolution rendering from Autopano Pro, so missed the heavy shadowing in this 4GB Tiff! But nice to see gigapan.org can cope. Might try another rendering if can face the painfully long processing time.

Also one thing I suddenly relised, is I did a the full 360d as wide angle, but then the distant mountain and village in telephoto. (With the intention of a low res 360, but a second higher res version of part of the pano ) - so the stitching software merged the two, so the parts 'behind' will be interpolated UP to match the high res stuff, which of course will be pixelated. My only excuse is still experimenting - and in my excitement to see such a big pano just went ahead and rendered and uploaded without thinking!

It was done with a tripod, but I admit it was done rather quickly, so some of the photos are a bit blurly. However the shadowing is almost certainly a fault of the stictching program. One thing I think I learnt from this pano, is that I probably left too MUCH overlap between frames (very easy with a fast SLR!), so the software had hard time matching up the large overlaps. Might try it again with less overlaps (I have some other panos to try rendering which I know left less overlap)

I would be curious to know what went wrong in this gigapan, was it on a shaky tripod or did the stitching software have trouble. A few spots show high resolution, but most of it is very blurry and pixelated. It is very nice subject matter its just that I have a keen interest in understanding the successes and troubles of others in making large gigapans as its so much work its frustrating when it does not come out well.
