Description

The Cagliari salt pans of Molentargius as seen from Monte Urpini, behind the popular Poeto beach in the distance. Salt production at this place is said to have started in Phoenician times. The solar salt plant is named after the small Sardinian donkey (su Molenti) that was used to transport the bags of salt or drag boats in the canals.
