Canon Powershot SX130 IS

architectural, landscape, travel, street, nature

This is the front of the Main Mound at Huaricanga, a Late Archaic (3,000-1,800 B.C.) site in the Fortaleza Valley, Peru. This platform mound construction is the largest in the Norte Chico. In front of the monument would've been a sunken circular court. The iconic huancas or large standing stones of Huaricanga are prominently displayed in the photo. Unfortunately, construction crews are actively (and illegally) removing material from the site for construction projects.
