- Description
-
Los Gemelos are twin sinkholes (collapsed magma chambers) in the highlands of Santa Cruz. This image is the eastern one. Zoom lens set at 300mm (35mm equivalent is 480mm). One photo was missed, hence the black box in the upper-right. Lighting conditions were tricky and exposures of the component photos were normalized in post-processing.
This is part of an effort to evaluate the use of high-resolution panoramic photography (HRPP) for environmental monitoring in Galapagos. This work was partially funded by Galapagos Conservancy (galapagos.org
) and is part of the GigaPan Education and Research Program.
