This building is one of many slated for demolition within Montréal's "The Main National Historic Site". The name "The Main" refers to Boulevard Saint-Laurent, or Saint Lawrence Boulevard, which is the street that divides Montréal between east and west. This section, The Lower Main, is both a commercial artery and a cultural heritage. The barely visible traces of signage and the ever-changing "publicité sauvage" are reminders of the constant transformation of the urban landscape, transformations that are not always for the best.
