    Description:

    The first tube of the Holland was holed through on Nov. 6, 1924. The two sandhogs were supervisors working from different ends. And they happened to be brothers.

    Description:

    The governors of both states met at the center for this ceremonial photo, the first such under the Hudson River.

    Description:

    Bethlehem Steel fabricated the cast iron and steel lining for both the Holland Lincoln Tunnels. It used an enormous amount.
