An event held as part of the festivities associated with the 2012 Olympic torch visiting Bath. It is an attempt to break the world record for the greatest number of people forming the olympic logo for at least 10 minutes. The organisers were hoping for 5,000 people but only just over 2,000 people came. The record stands at 2100 and I don't know if it was broken because although as I understand it, 2200 people registered and took part, some people left before the count had started.
You can also see people leaving after the event. I was told I would have plenty of time to set up and take the shot but as it turned out this was not true. I was given about 90 seconds because press barged in and were given my slot after I had been waiting for two and a half hours.
I think it's a pity the organisers went for a 30 second TV slot and a snapshot in the local newspaper when they could have had an amazing gigapan that would got a lot of internet/facebook interest and would last forever, but then I am biased :-)
Some more shots of Bath on this day to follow.

fetching snapshots...

Focus is not bad at all considering the allotted time to set up ... I am impressed with the effort.

A noble effort nonetheless!
