The Atomium in Brussels by Jacques Brusilia

The Atomium was designed by André Waterkeyn and built for the 1958 Brussels World's Fair. It stands 102 meters (335 ft) tall. It has nine steel spheres connected so that the whole forms the shape of a unit cell of an iron crystal magnified 165 billion times.

This is a stitch of 12 photos, shot 4.3 km away (2.7 miles) on a clear autumn day from the 34th floor of the Brusilia building, using a Nikon D7000 with a 600mm f4 lens and a x2 teleconverter. The ICE stitch was reworked then uploaded with Photoshop.

Right of the Atomium is another Brussels landmark: The "Palais 5", an exhibition hall of the Heysel in Laken, built in 1935 for Brussels International Exposition (4.5 km away).
