Texaco Hill Spring Sunset Gigapan by Edward Robison

This photograph was made in the April 2012 just after I hosted my annual Prairie Fire Photography Workshop. I had visited this location with my workshop group several days before and the wind was unusually still. So I thought I would return with the Gigapan on my way home, but by then the wind had picked up significantly in intensity. With the low evening light, and the force of the wind I had to shoot at a high ISO and a lower zoom level then I wanted to in order to keep the images sharp. When I returned to the car the wind blocked side was covered in mosquitos clinging to the cool metal.
