Thousands of years of habitation are shown in the acorn grinding holes in these weathered bedrock mortors. More than six hundred hloes have been counted here with many of them having ground through the rock itself. Ancient bay and oak trees sprout anew from their own roots to form groves with clones of the same tree having shaded these spots for many hundreds of years.
While it is known that Miwok and Volvons lived here, it is also know that there were family sites, seasonal camps, trading centers, and cerimonial sites it is difficult to imagine the people and activities in this location
