Eastern end of the Book Cliffs, located just northeast of Grand Junction, Colorado.
Finding this foreground was one part planning and
one part luck. I had spent a while scoping out
possible sites from which to view Mount Garfield
in Google Earth. I had actually selected another
site and passed this field on the way in. When I
got to the other site I decided this spot had a
much better foreground. I'm not sure what the
shutter count on this Canon T2i is, but if I get a
little time I'll do some digging to see what
it is. I'm pretty sure my Canon SX10 still has

able to find a spot here that didn't have a
terrible foreground. All sorts of highways and
poles and things you don't want. You managed
