- Description
-
The ice cone that has built up to more than half the height of the 460 foot cataract is beginning to melt and crumble, but there's enough ice to last well into May or even early June.
Those wishing to see the falls may take the trip along Highway 5 (Yellowhead Highway) to the town of Clearwater, BC then north into the Clearwater Valley into Wells Gray Provincial Park. It's approximately 30 km from Clearwater, 150 km north of Kamloops or about 250 km south of Jasper, Alberta. The road into the falls is kept open all winter even though there is about 2-3 feet of old snow in the area right now in April.
