This land cultivated grapes from the 1880s until prohibition. Joseph Farmer is said to first to enter a bottle of California wine into a Europian competetion where it won first place in 1888. Cattle have been run on this land sine the 1930s and more than fifty vineyards surround this fallow land. Sycamore Grove Park is on two sides of this land with State land behind it.

Local zoning restriction control development here. Six twenty acre vineyards with each having a home is one possiblity. A thirty room resort hotel with a hundred seat resteraunt and eight acres in winery is another option. This is a comuting distance from Silicon Valley or a destination of its own, but it is far from isolated, and has a view that is tough to beat on private land.
