This image clearly shows the clash between autumn and winter in the Sierra. Light, shadow, snow, and rain can change everything at any moment. Snow and clouds had just blown across this mountain slope in the background, followed by the sunlight captured in this image. Snow was still falling in the mountains off to the right, just out of my field of view, and some was falling on me at the time of this photo.
This is a narrower, but more zoomed in, view than an image posted earlier.
