This is a view of Briones Reservoir and University of California Leuschner Observatory as seen from the Russell Peak Trail. I first took the whole panorama with fixed manual focus, then decided to re-take the right 2/3 of the panorama with auto-focus, pausing and adjusting focus points as necessary (auto-focus shots were integrated prior to stitching). It took some time, but the result is much better than the first try with just fixed focus. Gusty winds may have added motion blur to some shots. I made a rookie mistake and ran out of room on the memory card before I got to the last row (lower-right). It does demonstrate the benefit of the monitored auto-focus approach, though.
