This will be my last GigaPan of Hays, Kansas as a resident. This was also intended to be my first GigaPan shot with my new Epic Pro, but the battery proved uncooperative, so I went back to the old reliable Epic100. This building was built in the 1870's but has fallen into disuse and decay. It has served as a dry goods store and a meeting house, but never actually an opera house, despite its popular name. Recently the crumbling facade has caused the city and the building's owners to move to have the historic building demolished ...

A large, tornadic thunderstorm fired up about 50 miles west of Hays, KS around noon today. By the time I got out to shoot this GigaPan it had developed quite a huge anvil cloud and was northwest of town and headed towards Nebraska. Big Creek is a meandering creek on the Great Plains of western Kansas. Historic Fort Hays was establised just a mile or so downst...

Originally intended to be a 360 degree panorama, the batteries petered out after 270 degrees. Still, not a bad result for a gorgeous spring day.

I waited for a nice spring afternoon to shoot this panorama. In a week or so the buildings will all be obscured by the leaves on the trees, but today you can see almost all of them.
