  1. See if you can find the Bakersfield College geology students on this cinder cone volcano in the Mojave Desert.

  2. A slightly different approach to capturing as many pinnacles as possible - a 360 degree panorama from in their midst.

  3. This was my first visit to the Trona Pinnacles - there are so many it's hard to get a good overview shot.

  4. I was hoping to GigaPan one of the open pit gold mines near Randsburg, but I couldn't find access, so I shot this view north across the Garlock Fault instead.

  6. The rocks in this canyon wall have been butchered by faulting on the Garlock Fault Zone located just south of this location. Good luck making geologic sense of what you see.

  9. The more well known exposures are best viewed in the morning, but the evening presents an opportunity to view the geology on strike.

  10. A syncline is beautifully exposed at the east end of Rainbow Basin in the Mojave Desert near Barstow, California.
