As a geologist sometimes you're just driving along when Wham! out of nowhere you spot something interesting in a roadcut. In the best of circumstances there's nobody tailgating you and there's a pullout where you can get off the road to photograph the roadcut. This was one of those good situations.
I think this is also the only GigaPan I shot this summer that has Mount Jefferson in it.
