This gigapan was taken along the Rio Aros in the newly created 47,000 acre Northern Jaguar Reserve. This area hosts the world's northernmost breeding population of jaguars. The day after these photos were taken all cattle were removed from the conservation ranches to help the process of ecological restoration. To learn more about conservation programs which are helping jaguars recover throughout their northern range visit www.defenders.org/jaguar
