Description

About the subject: The Fraser River valley in the area from Hope to New Westminster is a rich agricultural zone that is intensively farmed and which brings in over half of British Columbia's annual agricultural revenue. In the nineteenth century, steamboats plied the rivers and opened up the rout during the gold rush is the 1860s. The valley is also used by the Canadian Pacific Railway and Canadian National Railway transcontinental lines. It is challenging to take photographs in his area because of the air quality. Monitoring has improved in recent years and it is considerable better, but haze is unavoidable on most summer days when the prevailing wind blows up the valley from Vancouver. Housing and accommodation is much more affordable in the Valley and as a result the population has increased in the last few years. Many residential tracts are visible in the image.

About the image: This is a fairly small Gigapan consisting of only 60 individual images. They were taken with a Canon 50D fitted with a Canon EF 200 2.8 EF lens and processed via DXO and PTGui Pro.
