Hills are the large smooth rolling waves of California land. They can be thousands of feet high and not be called mountains, because we have the Sierra. Most people in California live around hills like these. Some of us shoot in our backyards and this is mine.

  2. Green is only seasonal here in the hills South of Livermore California. A storm push through some clear air last night and freshed the hills nicely.

  3. Light skips off of surfaces in a way that highlights grazing angles. Shadow and angles determine brightness, and slopes are revealed.

  4. We had rain and accumulated hail that looked like snow. Dramatic weather often produces vivid colour play that draws me out into the light.
