110203 - Inselberg camp, Nouragues Field Station, French Guiana

Sampling in the small forest on the Inselberg (410m) just before the trail moves out onto the exposed granite. The view from the nearby lookout was GigaPan'ed here: www.gigapan.org/gigapans/70748/
50 min to hike up from station to the end of the Inselberg Forest. The sampling transect extended from the forest trhough the broad-leafed area to the exposed rock. Pitfall traps were hard to place. Exposed area had very large fluctuations in temperature. Eciton stream was sampled on the way up (at 11.01.30 sampling location). Very limited leaf litter. Photos of sites and Dendrobates tinctorius. Traps up at 3:30pm (6hrs) and 30min to return to station.
