- Description
-
Teeming with garnets big and small, fresh and weathered, the Setters Schist is a muscovite schist metamorphosed from a pelitic protolith in (presumably) the Taconian orogeny. It also features staurolite, which is present in this sample, and kyanite, which isn't.
Sample collected in Sparks, MD.
