Wondering if anyone has come up with a solution to not being able to use the autofocus on the camera since the connection to the Epic Pro does not seem to have a way to initate a shutter response simulating a half press or using the AF button on the back.

I know you can do it with the camera because I made my first wired remote with both a focus an shutter button.

Any ideas other than pre-focus on estimated DOF?

If interested here’s link to the remote made, now just have to figure out how to adapt on to the unit.

OK more puzzlement, sorry to beat this to death

Used my DYO remote, can focus, use shutter fine
Plugged remote into my Epic Pro, DYI remote no longer functions at all!

The external trigger can be accessed with a standard 3-pole 2.5 mm jack plug. Appropriate ‘official’ remote controller with this plug is called RS-60 E3. The same pinout is used by all Pentax cameras
