The Epic Pro is compatible with a broad range of DSLR cameras, and can support camera and lens combinations up to 10 lbs.

If your camera is not on the list, it either is not compatible, or has not been qualified yet. If it is not on the list, please contact us. The Epic Pro will use a cable connection to the camera for electronic triggering. Check our Compatible Cameras locate your camera.

Camera Requirements for EPIC Pro

  • For a camera to be compatible with the EPIC Pro, it must first physically fit on the GigaPan EPIC Pro.
  • The ideal camera for the EPIC Pro should be no more than approx. 88 mm wide from center of tripod mount (you can adjust the center by purchasing the vice/clamp set) or have an overall width greater than approximately 177 mm wide.
  • For taller cameras or larger lenses (such as a 300mm f2.8) we recommend purchasing the extended down-struts.
  • Maximum weight total limit of the EPIC Pro is 10lbs, this includes camera body lens and accessories.

Some small DSLR cameras are compatible with the EPIC 100. Keep in mind that the maximum diameter of lens (filter size) that will fit on the EPIC 100 is 62mm. If using a lens with a larger filter size or total weight of camera body, lens and accessories exceeds 3 lbs, you should use the EPIC Pro if compatible.

Camera Requirements for EPIC 100

  • Camera must physically fit on the GigaPan EPIC 100
  • For a camera to fit on the GigaPan EPIC 100, it should be no more than approx. 148 mm wide (left to right) and 69 mm deep (front to back). The weight limit is 3 lbs.
  • Allow locking or manual control of exposure for a series of photographs
  • Allow locking or manual control of focus for a series of photographs
  • Allow locking of white balance for a series of photographs

For some cameras the EPIC 100 has an option for electronic triggering, via a remote port trigger cable. This option is available primarily for Canon cameras. This cable is an accessory and can be purchased from the EPIC/EPIC 100 parts page. This cable is optional for some cameras, denoted in the list with an (*); and required for other cameras, denoted in the list with (**). Please see the following for an explanation and check the list below. You will find instructions for using this feature in the EPIC/EPIC 100 manual.

*These cameras can be used with the EPIC 100 remote port trigger cable, but it is not a requirement.
**These cameras require the EPIC 100 remote port trigger cable in order to be compatible with the EPIC 100. The increased angle of the shutter button on these cameras inhibits the use of the mechanical button pusher

Camera Requirements for EPIC

  • Camera must physically fit on the GigaPan EPIC.
  • For a camera to fit on the GigaPan EPIC, it should be no more than approx. 111 mm wide (left to right) and 45 mm deep (front to back). The weight limit is 1.5 lbs.
  • Allow locking or manual control of exposure for a series of photographs
  • Allow locking or manual control of focus for a series of photographs
  • Allow locking of white balance for a series of photographs
