Today GigaPan introduces two new versions of its panorama image stitching software, GigaPan Stitch™ and GigaPan Stitch.Efx™, which include new features for enhancing image quality and controls for ease–of–use. Each provides automatic and precise stitching for gigapixel panoramas and other high-resolution images. The new software versions include tools for automatic vignette correction and improved alignment that help photographers to create stitched images with high quality and clarity.

Shanghai Skyline Gigapan Is New Record-Breaker

The competition to create the world’s largest digital photo was in full force in 2010. From panoramas of Dresden to Dubai to Rio de Janeiro, the size of these digital images exploded, and now a new gigapixel image of Shanghai has taken the top spot. The photo tops out at 272 gigapixels and, if printed, would be the size of more than 7007 billboards.

World's Largest Photo: Record-Breaking Photo Taken With Gigapan Epic Pro

First, it was a breathtaking image of Paris that set the record as the world's largest digital panorama at 26 gigapixels. But that record was broken as GigaPan announced today that an image taken of Dubai has taken the top spot as the world's largest digital photo. The gigapixel image that can be viewed at photo sharing site GigaPan.org, topped out at 45 gigapixels. If printed, this photo would be the size of nearly 1200 billboards.
